Daphne Loring - Coordinator of Retreats and Community Programs

Daphne is Coordinator of Retreats and Community Programs at the Cobscook Community Learning Center.

She studied Human Ecology at the College of the Atlantic with a self-designed concentration in globalization and community resilience . Daphne’s work over the last ten years has been to support communities in developing the connections, social infrastructure, and public policy to facilitate and support economic, social, and environmental well-being.  Much of her work has focused on supporting projects visioning new models for economy and sustainability.

Daphne has worked as a community organizer, a grassroots legislative director,  cooperative development consultant, popular educator, farm manager and assistant teacher. She has  worked with a number of organizations in Maine and beyond including the Maine Fair Trade Campaign, United for a Fair Economy, Food AND Medicine, JED Collective, Cooperative Development Institute, and the Data Commons Cooperative. She is a founding Board member of Land In Common Community Land Trust.

Bonnie Lyons - Custodial Coordinator

Bonnie is a Lubec native, mother of two sons and grandmother of four grandsons. She’s been keeping the CCLC buildings beautiful since shortly after Rice Hall opened in 2005. Bonnie has an Associate's Degree in Science from WCCC and loves learning. In addition to her work at the CCLC and elsewhere, Bonnie enjoys furthering her education and is working on her Bachelor's Degree in College Studies and Psychology. Bonnie enjoys gardening and is improving her skills through the permaculture class offered the CCLC and loves the idea of improving our earth and environment. She started the recycling of materials to help keep the CCLC clean and tidy and to keep us green.
