Join us on Saturday, December 8 at 7 pm as we view and discuss "Sicko". In this documentary, Michael Moore sets his sights on the plight of the uninsured. In the world's richest country, 45 million people have no health insurance, while HMO's grow in size and wealth. Moore also explores the widespread use of anti-depressants and their possible link to violent behavior. With his trademark humor and confrontational style, Moore asks the difficult questions to get to the truth behind today's health care.
Films are free and open to the public, and donations are always appreciated. Snacks will be on sale before the film. All films are shown as part of the CCLC's educational programming, which is designed to provide opportunities to explore and better understand our world. All are invited to stay afterwards for a conversation on topics brought up by the film. A committee of folks gather every few months to pick out topics and films. If you are interested in joining this committee, please contact Michelle at 733-2233.
