Based upon a popular slide show by Tim Caverly, this film highlights the outstanding character of the Allagash Wilderness Waterway (AWW), and takes a look at how the intent of the 1966 bond to “Develop the Maximum Wilderness Character” of the Allagash has been eroded through various public and governmental missteps. The Cobscook Community Learning Center invites the public to a special addition to its regular film and discussion program as it screens “A Wilderness at Risk” on Saturday, July 14th at 7:00 pm. All are invited to join in a discussion after the showing of the film. There is no charge for this event, and anyone able to give a $3 donation at the door is invited to do so. Refreshments will also be on sale. The program will take place at the CCLC, located at 10 Commissary Point Road in Trescott. Call 733-2233
