The Cobscook Community Learning Center will continue its Speaker / Video Series on Saturday, June 2nd at 7:00 pm with the showing of “Tying the Knot.” All are invited to join in a discussion after the showing of the film. Director Jim de Sève's no-frills documentary takes a concerted look at the heated and ongoing debate about same-sex marriage in the United States. Focusing on two gay couples who've become entangled in laws forbidding homosexual wedlock, the film puts a human face on the issue. Included are interviews chronicling marriage's evolution through the centuries and a discussion by proponents, who debunk the arguments against gay unions. There is no charge for this event, and anyone able to give a $3 donation at the door is invited to do so. Refreshments will also be on sale. The program will take place at the CCLC, located at 10 Commissary Point Road in Trescott. Call 733-2233
