Public hearings will be held to discuss a Public Service Grant that will be submitted by Washington County on behalf of the Cobscook Community Learning Center (CCLC). Citizens from all the concerned communities are invited to attend the Public Hearing on Tuesday, March 23 at the Pembroke Elementary School or Thursday, March 25 at the Whiting Community Building. Both meetings start at 6:30 p.m.

The grant is seeking $50,000.00 from the Maine Department of Economic and Community Development to support the development and implementation of strategies to link people in the Cobscook Bay region living within federal low-to-moderate income standards with CCLC programs and services. The communities of Lubec, Trescott, Whiting, Edmunds, Dennysville, Pembroke, Perry, Sipayik and Eastport are all in the CCLC service area. Interested citizens from these towns can contact their town office or the CCLC to view a copy of the application.

Public attendance and comments are invited and encouraged. Written comments may also be sent to the Cobscook Community Learning Center at RR1 Box 3640; Lubec, ME 04652. Contact the CCLC at 733-4796 for additional information.
